GAU Kacau Knights will be playing in to the 43rd Fiji Bitter Marist Sevens tournament this weekend in full force.

The team had been competing in local tournaments since January this year as part of their buildup to the much anticipated sevens this weekend.

Team manager Mosese Lewanavanua said the team was made up of players from Gau and Suva-based players who were from Gau.

“This will be the seventh tournament for us this year and I can say that we are very ready and fit for it.

“We were trying to rebuild the Gau Sevens team since January this year so we are hoping that this weekend, our hard work would be paid off,” said Lewanavanua.

Most of the players in the team are currently development players who are trying to stamp their mark in top tournaments.

“This is all part of our development strategy, most of our players are young and still developing their skills.

“We give them a lot of game time to help them build themselves.

“At the end of the day our main aim is to get the boys involved and expose their talent,” said Lewanavanua.
